Q. How much will my new driveway cost?
A. Every job is unique. Cost is determined based on the amount of material and labor required to complete the job. J & L Paving Concepts provides free estimates to all interested clients.
Q. Do I need to sealcoat my new driveway?
A. J & L Paving Concepts recommends that the driveway be sealcoated to protect it. Unprotected driveways remain porous, dry out, become rough, and lose their life rapidly. Sealer protects asphalt with a coating that is impervous to harmful elements and also fills and seals hairline cracks.
Q. How do I maintain my new driveway?
A. Preventative maintenace including crack filling and sealcoating should be completed every 1-3 years.
Q. Do I need to be home the day of scheduled work?
A. You do not need to be home the day of scheduled work as long as the driveway is clear of all vehicles and other items. Please make sure no cars remain in the garage that will need to be driven in the next 48-72 hours.
Q. Why is my new driveway softer in the hotter weather?
A. It is normal for asphalt to harden and soften as temperatures change.
Q. Why does my driveway look different or smoother in certain areas?
A. It is normal for driveways to have varied surface textures. Asphalt has various sizes of stone, sand, liquid asphalt and other ingredients which cause a varied textured surface. Also, driveways done by hand may look different than those done by machine.
